The objective of this consultancy is to support an IFC’s client (the Client) in a) assessing the potential and developing a roadmap for carbon capture and monetization of carbon credits for their cacao suppliers’ farms; utilizing the standardized metrics from the Cool Farm Tool emissions calculator; b) testing the tool for future implementation and use as a monitoring system of practices and GHG emissions; and c) mapping of carbon projects/initiatives in the region where farmers could be involved in; analyzing the viability of such participation; and; if applicable; an action plan. To facilitate this; IFC is seeking a consulting firm to conduct an initial assessment of the carbon capture potential; encompassing the collection and processing of data of cocoa producers supplying the client in the municipalities of Cabuyaro and Vista Hermosa (and surrounding areas) in Meta’s Department.
