The objective of the assignment is to perform road safety analysis on a large scale; specifically; for the roughly 4;200 km of concessioned highways managed by the FONADIN; by leveraging a combination of open-source data and remote sensing techniques encompassing both low- and high-resolution data that would allow for cost and time savings as compared to other methods. The primary objective is to identify potential areas of risks and formulate data-driven recommendations; ultimately enhancing overall road safety.The results of the Consultancy will be used by the World Bank experts in road safety to provide specific recommendations to Mexico’s National Bank of Public Works and Services (BANOBRAS) for improving/ prioritizing safety interventions on the concessioned highway network.
