Emissions
and Mitigation Strategies in Rice, Potato and Mint Cropping
System in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh
Background:
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale
Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and two international companies
under develoPPP.de framework have made a strategic
alliance and is expected to directly benefit
10,000 small-holder farmers by managing GHG
emissions and unsustainable practices in mint
cropping system, lowering new risks and volatility
in farming system. Given this context, this study
aims to establish the GHG emissions profile and
identify feasible GHG mitigation solutions for
promoting low carbon agriculture in 4 blocks of
Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh. A super
experienced agency in building climate resilience
in agriculture is required to develop GHGs
mitigation strategies for Mint, Rice and Potato
crops in the project area.
Objectives:
1. Estimate a baseline profile of GHG emissions
resulting from production of three major
crops ( rice, potato and mint) being cultivated in
the study area.
2. Develop a set of feasible and measurable GHG
mitigation actions and technology solutions
for the study area which will contribute to
adoption of sustainable agricultural practices in
the long term

It is construed that all the terms and conditions
of the tender package are acceptable and
agreed upon by the participating company. No
negotiations/changes to the GTCC shall be
acceptable at a later stage.
GIZ reserves the right to cancel/modify this
tender and /or reject a bid document including
subsequently a technical and financial proposal,
without assigning any reasons.
